Program Summary

The Master's Programme on Sustainable Urban Development introduces some methods to solve the challenges of sustainable urban development. By joining this program, you can initiate, control and implement procedures of sustainable urban development at various levels such as (regional, city-wide, neighborhood-related, and construction project-related).

Students who apply at the Technical University of Darmstadt will start their studies in Darmstadt, and those who apply to the VGU start their studies there. After first semester, all scholars study jointly in Darmstadt and VGU. 

Admission requirements 
Need for basic knowledge in:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a similar area or an equivalent degree.
  • Proficiency in English on the C1 (GER) level
  • Methods of urban development
  • Empirical analysis methods and statistical analysis techniques
  • German planning, building and land law
  • Application of geoinformation systems

Career 

Graduates will be able to find positions in public and private sectors regarding urban development. They can participate in the development projects of urban districts also the implementation of new infrastructures.
